Como Zoo Welcomes New Baby Saki Monkey
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Como Zoo has welcomed a new baby monkey to its primate building. The baby, a white-faced saki monkey, was born on Saturday and is now on display with its parents.
Como Zoo officials said the sex of the monkey is unknown until the coloring in its face develops, which typically occurs between one and two months. Once the sex is determined, the name of the baby will be chosen.
Males are recognizable by their black body and white face while females are brownish-gray.
Until then, the monkey has been affectionately nicknamed "Green Bean" for the mother's affinity for the food since giving birth.
