Charges: Man Exposed Himself To At Least 3 Children

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 30-year-old Farmington man is accused of exposing himself to children, asking them if they wanted to touch them and showing them pornography on his cell phone, according to charges filed Thursday in Dakota County Court.

Adam Eugene Berg was charged with two counts of attempted second-degree criminal sexual conduct and two counts of fifth-degree criminal sexual conduct in connection with the incidents.

According to the charges, Berg allegedly exposed himself to children or attempted to lure them on at least four different occasions for sexual purposes.

The first reported incident happened on Jan. 16. The complaint states Berg approached a 4-year-old child playing at a park in Farmington and asked the boy if he would like to touch him. When the boy's mother, who was nearby, saw him talking to her son, she approached him and he fled the scene.

On Feb. 13, Berg was allegedly in a truck and approached an 8-year-old girl playing outside her home. He exposed himself to the girl and asked her if she wanted to touch him, according to the complaint.

Two similar incidents happened on Monday. Berg allegedly showed a 10-year-old girl who was walking to a park a picture of a naked woman on his cell phone. About a half hour later, he showed two boys, ages 9 and 12, a picture of a naked woman's genitalia from his cell phone, according to the complaint.

The boys' father gave police a description of the man, which eventually led to Berg's arrest. He admitted to police that he exposed himself to children on at least three occasions. He also admitted to having pornography on his cell phone that he showed to children.

Berg's bail has been set at $30,000 with multiple conditions. His next court appearance is set for April 12.
