Candidate For Minn. Governor Undergoes Surgery

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A Republican running for Minnesota governor needed surgery after going to the hospital for stomach pains Monday morning.

In a statement Monday, Jeff Johnson's campaign said Johnson went to urgent care and after an initial consultation with doctors, it was decided that he needed surgery. He was then moved to the Maple Grove Hospital.

During the surgery, a small perforation was discovered in Johnson's stomach. It was repaired and he's now out of surgery.

The campaign says he is resting at the hospital with his family.
