Police: Baby Girl Found Safe After Reported Abduction In Brooklyn Center

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Brooklyn Center police says a 5-month-old girl is safe after her mother reported that she had been kidnapped Tuesday afternoon.

Officers were called to the 7000 block of Camden Avenue North at about 4:15 p.m. after the mother told police "an acquaintance" drove off with her infant. Police soon discovered that the acquaintance wasn't actually involved.

The baby was found safe about four hours later at her father's residence, located less than a mile from where the alleged abduction occurred.

Police say no one was arrested, but they're trying to decide if any criminal charges are necessary.
