Wisconsin high school football player dies from injuries sustained during game
A Wisconsin high school football player has died from injuries sustained during a game on Thursday night.
In a message to families, Superintendent Drew Semingson said that Adam Massman, who had been a senior at Lincoln Junior/Senior High School in Alma Center, was injured during Thursday's game and received medical support from EMTs on site before being brought to a hospital.
"Adam was active in our Lincoln community, participating in multiple sports, clubs, and activities, making friends everywhere he went," Semingson said. "We ask that you keep Adam's family and friends in your thoughts and prayers."
The superintendent added that the loss "touches our Lincoln family in many ways," with several relatives working for the school district, including his mother.
The Lincoln Junior/Senior High School will be open with counseling support available starting Monday at 12 p.m. and throughout the day Tuesday.
Alma Center is located about 45 miles southeast of Eau Claire.
