After Weeks On Mend, Gov. Dayton Says He's Feeling Good
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- Making his first public appearance in two weeks, Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton says a medical procedure on his ailing hip has relieved the pain.
Dayton gave a health update during a news conference on education Thursday at the Capitol. He says he is walking without pain for the first time in four months.
Dayton underwent a medical procedure at the Mayo Clinic in late October. He tore a muscle in that hip in June after stepping awkwardly on a set of stairs.
After the procedure, he was on the mend since and worked from the governor's residence. He says he got around on crutches in the early going.
The 66-year-old governor is gearing up for a re-election campaign in 2014.
