35th Annual Citywide Spring Cleanup In St. Paul This Weekend

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Fifty-one years ago, concerns about the environment launched the first Earth Day. Now it's become more than one day for the environment.

This weekend, St. Paul will hold its Citywide Spring Cleanup at Harriet Island Park.

At that time a GPS-tagged bottle will be released into the Mississippi River. The bottle will help track the movement of plastic pollution down river.

It's part of a new community science initiative.
