21 Twin Cities Children Find Homes On National Adoption Day
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Dozens of Twin Cities families are getting a new start.
Saturday is National Adoption Day. In Hennepin County, 21 children were officially adopted. District court judges finalized the adoptions at the Juvenile Justice Center.
Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar was there to speak to families. One Minneapolis woman adopted her two grandchildren.
"It's very special, very exciting," Dorothy Pempton said. "Now I will know where she's at at all times."
National Adoption Day is a nationwide effort to raise awareness of more than 100,000 children who are in foster care around the country.
