2 Injured After Car, Street Sweeper Crash In St. Paul

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Two people were injured after a car and a street sweeper crashed in St. Paul Monday morning.

According to the St. Paul Police Department, a car rear-ended a street sweeper early Monday at University Avenue and Prior Avenue.

The car had been excessively speeding.

The car began smoking after the crash and the driver had to be pulled out of the vehicle.

The eastbound lane of University Avenue between Snelling and Cleveland Avenues is closed.

Both the driver of the car and the driver of the street sweeper suffered non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the car was taken to the hospital.

There has been no word on the victims' conditions.
