People waiting for a scorecard on a key insurance enrollment measure under Minnesota's health care marketplace will have to wait for results. MNsure interim director Scott Leitz said Friday it will take officials time to say how many previously uninsured people have obtained coverage for the first time. Leitz says some statistics are being kept or gleaned from enrollment forms, but it's not known how many of the 400,000 previously uninsured Minnesotans have enrolled.
Eagan, Minn. was listed as one of 25 best suburbs to retire in in 2014 by Forbes.com. The business magazine put together a list of 25 suburbs that they think are ideal for retirement based on location, economic value and other amenities such as health care and mass transit.

Senate Majority Leader Tom Bakk says voters should decide whether Minnesota's minimum wage climbs automatically. A constitutional amendment that he and another prominent senator put in play Thursday would ask voters this fall if they think the wage should be forever linked to inflation.
Minnesota's unemployment rate has climbed slightly to a seasonally adjusted 4.8 percent, with employers cutting 100 jobs. The rate for February was one-tenth of a point higher than January's figure.
Graham Fowler, of Fridley, Minn., is a 10-year-old with an extremely disease called Spitzoid Melanoma. He's being treated at the Mayo Clinic and has had eight surgeries. Minnesota beer lovers would find it easier to enjoy their pursuit on Sundays under a bill advanced by a Senate committee for expanded alcohol sales on the seventh day. Without testimony or debate, the Senate Commerce Committee passed a bill included three proposals by Sen. Roger Reinert, DFL-Duluth. One would allow taprooms to make Sunday sales. Another would allow craft-beer brewers to sell 64-ounce containers called "growlers" on Sundays. And the third would allow small brewers and brewpubs to refill any growler on Sundays.

The Sierra Club said Monday that it has filed an intent-to-sue notice against Minnesota Power, alleging that the utility has committed nearly 13,000 violations of the Clean Air Act at three coal-fired power plants in northeastern Minnesota. The group alleges that the utility's data show its Boswell, Taconite Harbor, and Laskin plants have violated soot standards more than 10,000 times over the past five years.

John Abdo, president of My Burger, says Americans have had a love affair with the hamburger for more than 100 years. "Everybody remembers burgers and fries as a kid," Abdo said. "When you're eating, it always harkens back to … backyard grilling."
HealthPartners is alerting some of its customers about a privacy breach that happened back in 2008. According to HealthPartners officials, information of some customers was compromised between 2008 and 2010 when an employee shared files with a family member in order to get help formatting them for reports.
