The Mayo Clinic Health System is reporting that 100% of its hospital beds are full in northwestern Wisconsin, with 50% of intensive care units being occupied by patients who tested positive for COVID-19. Hundreds of its staff members are also on work restrictions due to COVID-19 exposure.
Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz said he wishes the neighboring Dakotas would take more aggressive steps to slow the spread of the coronavirus, singling out South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem for criticism.
The only way to stop the coronavirus pandemic from getting even worse in Wisconsin is to "triple down," individually and collectively, on public health measures, the state's business leaders learned in a bleak update Wednesday.
The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) on Wednesday reported 56 new deaths from COVID-19 -- an all-time daily high since the pandemic began. Health officials also reported 4,900 new cases.
