According to the Minnesota Department of Health's daily update, the state's total positive cases have risen to 746,768 since the pandemic began, with 8,330 deaths attributed to the virus. About 16,700 tests have been newly processed.
Minnesota health officials reported Monday 3,223 new cases of COVID-19 and 25 more deaths. Meanwhile, the number of people battling the virus in ICU beds is the highest it's been this year.
Nationally, COVID-19 cases are down 20% in the last 14 days, but in Minnesota cases are up more than 30%. Much of the increase is because of a surge in cases here in children.
Veterinary clinics are struggling to keep up with appointments, which means pets are waiting weeks or even months to get checked out.
Health officials on Friday reported 3,661 new cases of COVID-19 and 20 deaths, as the state's average positivity rate rises to 7.6%.
Top hospital and long-term care industry leaders say that workers are exhausted and leaving the profession at record-levels, creating a staffing shortage of caregivers as cases increase and hospital beds fill up.
"I'm going to embrace my age, I'm going to embrace everything that's going on in my body as a woman. Menopause is a part of life," Kym Douglas said.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 11 school staff members have died due to COVID-19, according to the Minnesota Department of Health.
Since Minnesota students returned to in-person classes last month, there have been nearly 7,000 COVID-19 cases detected in schools across the state.
Thirteen of those deaths occurred in September, and one in March. The other 18 happened in October.
If regulators agree, shots could begin within a matter of weeks.
"The vaccine is like a great umbrella, but it is raining COVID outside and you might still get wet, and so that's why we're saying test as well," MDH's Dan Huff said.
"At our facility, we currently have a 40% to 45% vaccination rate for staff," certified nursing assistant Abbie Tiemann said. "We've come to the point where no one else is willing to take that vaccine. I am one of them."
