"I've never heard of the organization. Couldn't believe that they were right down the street from us," said Loaves and Fishes' Cathy Maes. "I couldn't even understand the dollar amounts that I was reading in the newspaper."
The RCMP say the Patels arrived in Toronto, Ontario on Jan. 12, and they likely arrived in Emerson on Jan. 18. Investigators believe they were dropped off there since no car was found along the border.
