Authorities in northern Minnesota are looking for a suspect after the City Hall and library in McKinley were burglarized on Sunday. The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office said the incident happened sometime early Sunday morning.
Authorities have identified the man found dead in a Shorewood home last month, and the woman accused of killing him is facing murder charges. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office said the victim is identified as 58-year-old Eddie Frank Sole of Shorewood.
An Eagan man has been charged with violating the Illinois Controlled Substance Act by bringing almost 90 pounds of the stimulant plant khat into the United States from the United Kingdom. The Chicago Tribune reports that customs agents at Chicago's O'Hare Airport stopped 20-year-old Dominic Running with more than $12,000 worth of khat, a plant that's chewed like tobacco and contains a stimulant similar to amphetamine.
Driving can be dangerous for any new teen driver, but research shows that adding texting to the mix makes matters much worse. Sending or reading a text message distracts most teenage drivers for 4.6 seconds. At 55 mph, it's like driving the entire length of a football field while blind. Lt. Jeff Schlumpberger with the Hennepin County Sheriff's office says it's illegal to text and drive in Minnesota.
A 65-year-old man is dead after the tractor he was driving was rear-ended by another vehicle. Police say the incident happened around 10:22 a.m. Saturday on Highway 61 in Wabasha County.

A Brooklyn Center man who was shot to death Thursday night in Minneapolis has been identified. According to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner, 32-year-old Chukwumah Terrell Okolie was shot multiple times at 42nd Ave. N. and Fremont Avenue North, and was pronounced dead at 10:50 p.m. Minneapolis Police continue to investigate this homicide.
An overnight shooting in Brooklyn Park left one man dead. Both Brooklyn Park police and the Hennepin County Sheriff's Department responded to a call at the 6200 block of Winnetka Avenue at 2 a.m. Saturday.

An Albert Lea man is being held at an adult detention center after he reportedly held a person hostage at his home Friday evening following a dispute.
Police responded Thursday night to the third drive-by shooting in the past week. According to Faribault Police, a drive-by shooting was reported Thursday at 11:45 p.m. in the 900 block of Central Avenue NW. The apparent target was a single-family home with several occupants, including young children. The home was struck by several bullets, but no one was injured.
Prosecutors say a high school cheerleader is admitting she talked a fellow student into prostituting herself, then kept the money. Eighteen-year-old Montia Parker pleaded guilty Friday to three prostitution-related counts.
A 59-year-old Goodview man is sentenced to nearly five years in prison in the drug-related death of his 34-year-old son. Authorities say Jeffrey Schumacher Sr. supplied methadone to his son, Jeffrey Schumacher Jr., who died in May 2012.
A suspicious death investigation in Shoreview has changed to a homicide investigation, according to the Ramsey County Sheriff's office. Authorities say a man was found slumped over outside of a building, dead of an apparent gunshot wound on early Thursday morning. The man, described as African American in his late 20s or early 30s, was found in the 5700 block of Hamline Avenue North, and was without identification.
Two men suspected of stealing checks, cash and gift cards from wedding receptions in the north metro have been charged with theft. Derrick Duane Manson, 41, and Aaron Ray Martin, 40, both face one felony count of theft, according to documents filed in Anoka County. If convicted, the accused could face a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and/or a $20,000 fine.
