A women was shot by a stray bullet while sleeping early Sunday morning, according to Minneapolis Police. The incident happen just after 2:30 a.m., when a bullet struck the woman in her arm while she was asleep in an upstairs bedroom in a home on the 700 block of Sheridan Ave. N. The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries, and refused medical transport.
Charges are expected Monday against a 22-year-old woman in Bemidji, who was arrested in connection with the death of her 6-year-old cousin. Rachel Downer is facing charges of manslaughter and felony neglect of a child in the death of Mercedes Mayfield. Downer was watching her cousin last month when the little girl was found frozen to death at the entrance of her apartment. The temperature at the time was minus 27.

A Cambridge man was convicted Friday on charges stemming from the shooting of a man during a road-rage incident outside of the Isanti County Police Department in 2012. Joseph Duane Kadlec, 73, was convicted of first-degree assault, second-degree assault and reckless discharge of a firearm by an Isanti County jury.
