Teens face judge after Homestead carjacking and deputy‑involved shooting

Three teenagers appeared in court after being charged in connection with an armed carjacking and a deputy‑involved shooting in Homestead. Prosecutors say one of the defendants pointed a gun at an officer and is linked to a violent street gang. One suspect’s mother, who attended bond court, said her son was shot twice in the arm by a deputy and expressed shock at the allegations.
