Rehabilitated manatee mom and calf return to open waters as Florida deaths rise again

A manatee mother rescued after a fishing-line injury, and her newborn calf, were released back into the ocean in the Florida Keys, as Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission reports manatee deaths have climbed to their highest level in three years amid cold weather, red tide and boating accidents.
