DORAL (CBSMiami) -- Donald Trump was in South Florida for the final round of the PGA Cadillac Championship and was candid with cameras about issues concerning the title event's sponsor as well as his run for the White House.

The Republican front-runner arrived by helicopter Sunday afternoon at the Trump National in Doral where the event was hosted. Hundreds of supporters turned out to see him.

"You know, I'm popular in Florida. I employ thousands of people in Florida. I love the state, I've spent hundreds of millions of dollars in Florida building things, many things -- this area, Palm Beach, all over," Trump said. "These people have never employed anybody. They haven't employed one person. So I think the people of Florida will understand."

Trump feels Florida could be the key to winning the presidency.

"It certainly goes a long way. They say if I win Florida, it'll be, you know, pretty much over. But we'll see what happens. I have a nice lead now," Trump gloated before turning the topic to his opponents. "They're corrupt people. They're spending $100 million on ads and the money's all given, as you know, by special interests because they want something. Whether it's oil and gas or any number of things."

It might be the last time Trump has a chance to be part of the World Golf Championship. Cadillac is in its last year as title sponsor and is not expected to extend their contract.

"I've had a lot of business with Cadillac and I've had a great relationship with Cadillac. They're a great company," Trump said. "I'm not sure what the commissioner is going to do with Cadillac here but I'm sure they'll get another sponsor if it's not Cadillac."

After the tournament, Trump presented Adam Scott with the winner's trophy.
