Traffic Alert: 826 Closures & Detours This Weekend

MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Drivers on the Palmetto Expressway (SR826) should be aware of closures and detours that may affect your commute.
The closures and detours are due to planned construction and a bridge demolition as part of the Palmetto Expressway project.
Until Saturday, May 9th the following lanes will be closed from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.
All eastbound lanes on NW 138 Street will be closed at SR 826.
Eastbound drivers on NW 138 Street/West 84 Street can:
- Turn south (right) on West 24 Avenue
- Turn east (left) on NW 122 Street/West 68 Street
- Turn north (left)on West 19 Court
- Turn immediately west (left) and follow the curve to West 20Avenue (E)
- Turn east (right) on NW 138 Street/West 84 Street
Southbound drivers on SR 826/Palmetto Expressway heading to eastbound NW 138 Street/West 84 Street can:
- Exit on NW 138 Street
- Turn west (left) on NW 138 Street/West 84 Street and follow the curve to West 23 Avenue
- Turn west (right) on West 23 Avenue to continue on NW 138 Street/West 84 Street
- Turn south (left) on West 24 Avenue
- Turn east (left) on NW 122 Street/West 68 Street
- Turn north (left) on West 19 Court
- Turn immediately west (left) and follow the curve to West 20 Avenue (E)
- Turn east (right) on NW 138 Street/West 84 Street
All westbound lanes on NW 138 Street will be closed.
Westbound drivers on NW 138 Street/West 84 Street can:
- Turn south (left) on West 20 Avenue (E) and follow the curve to West 19 Court
- Turn south (right) on West 19 Court
- Turn west (right) on NW 122 Street/West 68 Street
- Turn north (right) on West 20 Avenue (W) and continue to NW 138 Street/West 84 Street.
Starting Sunday, May 10th to Monday, May 11th, the following lanes will be closed from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.
All northbound lanes on will be closed between NW 122 Street/West 68 Street and NW 154 Street, including the flyover ramp to I-75 and the exit ramp to eastbound SR 924/Gratigny Parkway.
Northbound drivers on SR 826/Palmetto Expressway can:
- Exit on NW 122 Street/West 68 Street
- Turn west (left) on NW 122 Street/West 68 Street
- Turn north (right) on West 28 Avenue
- Turn east (right) on NW 154 Street
- Take the entrance ramp to northbound
SR 826/Palmetto Expressway Northbound drivers on SR 826/Palmetto Expressway heading to I-75 can:
- Exit on NW 122 Street/West 68 Street
- Turn west (left) on NW 122 Street/West 68 Street
- Turn north (right) on West 28 Avenue
- Turn east (right) on NW 154 Street
- Take the entrance ramp to southbound SR 826/Palmetto Expressway
- Take the exit ramp from southbound SR 826/Palmetto Expressway to I-75
Northbound drivers on SR 826/Palmetto Expressway heading to eastbound SR 924/Gratigny Parkway can:
- Exit on NW 122 Street/West 68 Street
- Turn east (right) on NW 122 Street/West 68 Street
- Turn (north) left on NW 57 Avenue/West 4 Avenue/ Red Road to access the entrance ramp to eastbound SR 924/Gratigny Parkway
Eastbound and westbound drivers on NW 122 Street/West 68 Street heading to northbound SR 826/Palmetto Expressway can:
- Turn north on West 28 Avenue
- Turn east (right) on NW 154 Street
- Take the entrance ramp to northbound SR 826/Palmetto Expressway
As for the eastbound SR 924/Gratigny Parkway, the exit ramp to northbound SR 826/Palmetto Expressway will be closed from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. daily until Saturday.
Eastbound drivers heading to northbound SR 826/Palmetto Expressway can:
- Take the southbound ramp to SR 826/Palmetto Expressway
- Exit on NW 103 Street/West 49 Street and stay on the off-ramp's far left lane
- Turn east (left) on NW 103 Street/West 49 Street and go under the overpass
- Take the northbound entrance ramp to SR 826/Palmetto Expressway
