BRISTOL, Conn. (CBSMiami) – ESPN has developed a reputation for falling all over itself for anything dealing with former Florida Gators quarterback Tim Tebow. Now the network finally has him under contract.

Tebow has been hired as an analyst for the new SEC Network.

Tebow is scheduled to make his debut on January 6 during the pregame coverage of the BCS National Championship game between Auburn and Florida State. According to ESPN, Tebow will contribute to SportsCenter, College Football Live, and College GameDay.

"I am so excited that ESPN has given me this incredible opportunity," Tebow tweeted. "When I was six-years-old I fell in love with the game of football and while I continue to pursue my dream of playing quarterback in the NFL, this is an amazing opportunity to be a part of the unparalleled passion of college football and the SEC."

Tebow's dreams of playing in the NFL are likely over after he was cut this year. No NFL teams have come calling for Tebow after he was cut, despite multiple teams needing a quarterback to build around.

The NFL Network tweeted that Tebow does have an out clause in his SEC Network contract if an NFL team wants to bring him onto the roster.
