T.D. Eight Forms: Moving East, No Threat To Land

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Tropical Depression Eight has formed in the north-central Atlantic Ocean.

At 11 p.m., the depression was located about 550 miles east-southeast of Bermuda. The storm has maximum sustained winds of 35 mph, with higher gusts, and was moving to the north at 17 mph.

The storm is forecast to continue moving north until Thursday afternoon, when it should move east. Some strengthening is forecast over the next 48 hours, and the tropical depression could become a tropical storm by Friday.

Tropical Depression Eight currently poses no threat to land.
