Sports Agenda For Wednesday (1/11/12)

Big Story:
The NFL's coaching carousel is spinning at a frenetic pace this morning and the Heat lost to the Warriors last night, but there's no reason to panic!
The last time I quit watching sports was…never.

NFL Coaches:
Okay, let's go through what's happening now. It may get confusing.
Former Miami Dolphins head coach Tony Sparano is heading to the New York Jets to take over as the team's offensive coordinator.
He will replace Brian Schottenheimer who resigned Tuesday.
The Rams have requested and received permission to interview Carolina Panthers offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski.
The Dolphins are said to have had good interviews with Dave Toub and Mike Zimmer.
Former Colts head coach Raheem Morris has been offered the defensive coordinator job in Washington and may receive an offer for the same job in Minnesota.
Former Chiefs head coach Todd Haley may be joining the Jets staff in some capacity after getting fired in Kansas City.
The Jacksonville Jaguars have hired former Atlanta Falcons offensive coordinator Mike Mularkey to be the Jags' new head coach.
Former New York Jets offensive line coach Bill Callahan has taken the same job with the Dallas Cowboys.
The Oakland Raiders fired their head coach Hue Jackson and could be targeting Joe Philbin as a new coach.
And finally, Jeff Fisher still hasn't decided on a team between the Rams and Dolphins.
In the words of Dark Helmet…."Everybody got all that?"
The one piece of good news is that Fisher is expected to pick a team today, according to Armando Salguero.
So, as the carousel spins, the Dolphins sit and wait.
I am perplexed about one thing though, why haven't the Dolphins brought in Chudzinski to interview?
He's a good offensive minded coach and has deep ties to the area.
He helped Cam Newton achieve record numbers as a rookie, of course the question is who was more responsible Chud or Cam?
Still, it would be a hire that would make Hurricanes fans happy.
But he has no head coaching experience that I'm aware of. Still, he also helped develop Antonio Gates and actually made the Browns relevant a few years ago.
The Fins aren't interested, at least not publicly.
Remember, they're only releasing the names of candidates if the candidate agrees to let the name be released.
You'd think it would have leaked out if he was here, so we'll see what the Dolphins approach is.
I think Fisher would be wise to pick the Fins and then the Fins go all in and trade up to number 2 to select either Robert Griffin III, my guy, or Andrew Luck if someone traded up to number one to get RGIII.

Miami Heat: (@ Los Angeles Clippers, 10:30 p.m., Sun Sports)
The Heat dropped just their second game of the season last night to the lowly Golden State Warriors.
But before you go jumping off the bridge to conclusions, the Warriors have also beaten the New York Knicks and the Chicago Bulls.
Good thing they're not in the Eastern Conference.
The only thing that troubled me about the game is that the Heat have been opening up huge leads and then hitting cruise control.
The problem is they hit cruise control too early and let the other team claw its way back in.
I also didn't like Dwyane Wade playing 37 minutes while James Jones played 3 minutes.
I'm not saying Jones is better than Wade, but when Wade is coming back from an injury, I think 37 minutes is a bit excessive in his first game back.
I'd like to see a little more consistent play from Chris Bosh, especially on the rebounding front.
Don't sleep on Haslem, he continued with a string of good performances by putting in 9 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.
Still, I would have liked to see Jones come in for around 10-15 minutes to ease the burden on Wade.
Look, Wade had 34 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 assists, but I still would be careful about playing him too much.
Tonight, the Heat go to play Lob City West.
It's a nickname for the Clippers since they love to throw the lob pass to Blake Griffin.
(If you're wondering, Miami should be Lob City East for obvious reasons, i.e. LeBron jumping out of the gym)
Wade was apparently ticked off last night after the game, which should spell danger to the Clippers.
I'm guessing LeBron will be guarding Griffin some tonight, which may mitigate him a bit on the offensive end.
The game should be fun and filled with plenty of highlights if you're willing to stay up that long.
