S. Fla. Man Gets Year In Prison For Killing Dog
WEST PALM BEACH (CBS4) -- A South Florida man has been sentenced to a year and a day in prison for killing his dog with a knife.
A Palm Beach County judge sentenced 40-year-old Kenneth Russell Hall on Friday after he pleaded guilty to animal cruelty.
Authorities say Hall had taken his pit bull-lab mix to a friend's Lake Worth home last May, and his dog got into a fight with another dog. Sometime after the fight, Hall reportedly told his friend he was going to put his dog out of her misery.
The friend told deputies that Hall cut the dog's throat twice with a pocketknife and then stabbed her in the sides. Hall later told deputies that he loved the dog and didn't want her to suffer anymore.
