Police Identify Woman's Body Found On FIU Campus

MIAMI (CBS4)- Miami-Dade Police have identified the body of a woman found on Florida International University's Modesto A. Madique Campus.

Police said that the body of 29-year-old Lisbel Garcia was found on the west side of the five-story Red Parking Garage around 9 a.m. Friday, according to FIU's student newspaper website.

The school newspaper's website, FIUSM.com, reported that Miami-Dade detective Javier Baez said there does not appear to be any signs of foul play. However, investigators are waiting for results from the Miami-Dade medical examiner before commenting further.

Although the university is on spring break, a school spokesperson said witnesses spotted the woman and called campus police.

The Web site said Garcia was not a student at the university and her connection to the school is still unclear at this point.

The investigation is still underway.
