Police Ask For Public's Help In 1983 Fort Lauderdale Case

FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) -- Investigators are asking for the public's help to identify a young girl found dead in a wooded area of Fort Lauderdale more than 30 years ago.
The National Center For Missing & Exploited Children created a facial reconstruction in hopes someone may know something about the girl.
Her skeletal remains were found on September 19, 1983, in a wooded area along Route 27 just south of the Palm Beach County line in Broward County.
The girl - who was not facially recognizable at the time - was estimated to have been deceased for several months or up to a year.
She was between 11 and 19-years-old and between 5'00" and 5'04" tall at the time. She had brown or auburn medium length hair.
The girl was wearing a gold chain with a distinct seashell pendant when she was found.
