Police Search For Man Accused Of Attempted Sexual Battery Of Palmetto Bay Woman In Broad Daylight
PALMETTO BAY (CBSMiami) -- Miami-Dade police are searching for a man accused of committing an attempted armed sexual battery in the Palmetto Bay Area in broad daylight.
"In this incident, she did the right thing and was able to get away from this animal," said detective Argenis Colome.
Colome said the woman was walking westbound on Southwest 168th Street where she was approached by a male that came out of a field with a knife.
"As he was dragging the victim he was trying to remove her shirt and a physical altercation happened and the victim was very fortunate that she was able to get away," said Colome.
The victim was able to run away from the man with minor scratches and lacerations
Police said the man they are looking for is armed and dangerous
Steve Schwartzman, who has lived in this neighborhood for years, says it's just shocking.
Police set up a perimeter and continue to look for the suspect.
