PALM BAY (AP) — A city on Florida's Space Coast is on a list for the hottest metro areas for science, engineering and technology.
The Brookings Institution last week put Palm Bay, Florida at number 7 on its list of cities that excel at advanced industries.
The Brookings' Metropolitan Policy Program said science, engineering and technology jobs made up about 13.5 percent of all jobs in Palm Bay.
That's primarily because of the aerospace and defense companies in the area.
The only metro areas that ranked higher were Washington, San Francisco, Detroit, Wichita, Seattle and San Jose.
