Officials Investigate Oakland Park Toddler's Mysterious Death

OAKLAND PARK (CBS4)- An autopsy is underway as the Broward Sheriff's Office continues to investigate the death of an Oakland Park toddler who died after spending time in a pool.

Destiny Taylor, 2, had apparently been swimming in her townhouse community's pool under adult supervision Wednesday afternoon, according to Sheriff's Office spokesman Mike Jachles.

Shortly after returning to her home after 5 p.m. in the 3000 block of Northwest 30th Avenue, police responded to a call after it was reported that the child became lethargic and then unresponsive.

The child died later at Broward General Hospital, but the exact cause was not known Wednesday night.
