Miami-Dade Cop Relieved Of Duty For Hauling Mattresses

MIAMI (CBSMiami/AP) — A Miami-Dade police officer, just days away from her retirement, has been relieved of duty with pay after getting caught on camera hauling mattresses on top of her patrol car.

Police say an investigation is underway on Officer Sandra Lyles, who was set to retire in a couple of days.

A phone number listed for Lyles has been changed.

Several Miami television stations reported local viewers used their cameras to capture video and photos of the officer using her patrol car to carry two mattresses on Monday.

No further information was immediately released.
