One Vero Beach Jail Escapee Captured, Another Still At Large

VERO BEACH (CBSMiami/AP) – Authorities say they have captured an Indian River County Jail escapee, but his cellmate is still on the run.

Leviticus Taylor, 25, was caught in Jensen Beach. Three people have also been arrested for aiding in the escape plot. Taylor's cellmate Rondell Reed, 51, has not been found.

Both men were being held on first degree murder charges at the time of their escape.

The Indian River sheriff's office believes the men were picked up outside the jail. Deputies spent the day reviewing surveillance tapes and jail phone records. The wooded area near the Vero Beach airport was also search early Monday.

Taylor was convicted of murder in September. He was scheduled for sentencing Nov. 10.

Authorities say Reed escaped from a North Carolina prison more than 20 years ago.
