HIALEAH (CBSMiami) -- Police gave the all-clear Tuesday afternoon after Miami-Dade College's Hialeah campus was evacuated over a bomb threat.

"All clear has been given for MDC's Hialeah Campus. All normal operations have resumed.  Classes going on this evening as normally scheduled," read a statement from Miami-Dade College.

Authorities finished their sweep of the campus around 4 p.m.  after a bomb threat was called in at around 1 p.m. at their campus located at 1780 West 49 Street.

An anonymous caller threatened the school with a bomb, saying they would follow up with a shooting at the campus, according to Hialeah Police.

The campus was evacuated out of a precaution while authorities swept it with bomb-sniffing dogs. Miami-Dade Police officers were also helping in the investigation.

Officers believed the threat was a hoax but say they needed to take precautionary measures.
