Marlins Roof Has Holes To Fix
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – If you've watched the Miami Marlins play, you know the team has plenty of holes. But it turns out the roster isn't the only thing that has holes the Marlins need to fix.
According to CBS4 news partner the Miami Herald, Marlins Park has holes in the brand new roof. The leaks are not considered a major problem and happen to many stadiums. Marlins president David Samson said the problems were normal.
"Sunday, there were four or five spots where we had some drips coming down. The roof people were looking at those joints," Samson told the Herald. "Again, it's very normal."
Samson told the Herald that workers plug leaks by opening up panels and patching the joints. He jokingly said, "I guess they put gum on it or something to seal it up."
It turns out the roof isn't the only thing that needs a little work. The grass in the outfield is dying because the roof has been closed for so long the grass isn't getting enough sun and rain.
So, while the stadium is a technological marvel that is dazzling fans and opponents, like any new building or home, there will continue to be growing pains.
