Man Passes Out While Pushing Stroller

MARATHON - (CBS4) - A 56-year-old man who had been pushing a stroller near a busy Marathon street passed out after a day of heavy drinking early this week, according to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.

When deputies arrived to the scene Monday afternoon, they found 56-year-old Raymond Dascott sprawled out on the street with two, cold Keystone Ice beers on the child's stroller.

Deputy Bradford Colen photographed the scene.

Deputies were called to the area of 25th Street just after noon. Two men reached out to authorities to report that a baby was left unattended in a stroller, while a man who had reportedly been pushing the stroller had passed out drunk, the sheriff's office reported.

Dascott told authorities he was "resting" and said he had gone to the Tom Thumb with the child and was on his way home, which was a block away on 24th Street.

While Dascott was carted off to jail and charged with child neglect, the child was taken to a grandmother's house. The child was unharmed.
