Lauderhill Announces New Police Chief
LAUDERHILL (CBS4) - After serving as the Broward Sheriff's Office's district chief of Lauderdale Lakes for nearly a dozen years, Andrew Smalling was sworn in Thursday as the new Chief of Police for Lauderhill.
Smalling will replace Kenneth Pachnek who retired this month after serving as the city's police chief for 11 years.
Smalling has served with the Broward Sheriff's Office in several different agency positions for nearly 20 years. He was a School Resource Officer, a Narcotics Detective, and the K-9 Unit Commander at one point. His career with the Sheriff's Office culminated in his appointment as the Police Chief at Lauderdale Lakes which lasted for 11 years.
The Swearing-In Ceremony & Reception took place in City Hall's Commission Chambers at approximately10:00 am.
According to the city, "This vast leadership role as well as his Marine Corps success as an Intelligence Officer will surely be an asset to the Lauderhill Police Department."
