Hurricanes' Lamar Miller Declares For NFL Draft

MIAMI (CBSMiami.com) – Lamar Miller, the do-everything running back for the Miami Hurricanes, will forego his senior season and enter the 2012 NFL Draft, the school confirmed Monday.

Miller finished his final season with the Hurricanes ranked 19th in the country in rushing yards per game while piling up 1,272 yards rushing this season.

Miller also added nine touchdowns during the regular season while averaging nearly 19 carries per game.

Miller signed with NFL super agent Drew Rosenhaus, which cancels any more amateur eligibility.

NFL draft experts haven't weighed in much on Miller's chances of being a first-round pick, but he shouldn't fall any further than the third round at worst.

Miller joins Tommy Streeter and Marcus Forston as the latest players this year to leave after his junior season.
