Gov. Scott Going Fishin' In The Keys
KEY WEST (CBS4) – Taking advantage of his swing through South Florida, Governor Rick Scott plans to do a little fishing on Thursday in the Florida Keys to promote tourism.
Scott is scheduled to take a boat out of Key West early Thursday for a morning fishing trip.
Earlier this year, Scott visited Canada, Philadelphia, New York and Chicago to promote tourism to the Sunshine State. On those trips the governor — whose campaign slogan was "Let's Get to Work" — said tourism brings jobs. Scott also said tourism in Florida saw growth in 2010, but efforts were needed to keep it growing in 2011 and beyond.
On Thursday Scott met with editorial board of CBS4 news partner The Miami Herald. Scott, whose approval ratings rank him the least popular governor in the country, is trying to turn his image around.
During the meeting, he discussed everything from jobs to politics, he also answered questions sent in by email and Twitter.
