Free Bus Service Gives Art Basel Goers An Option

MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Art aficionados flocking to South Florida from around the world plus locals can cause quite a traffic tie up during Art Basel Miami.
But Miami-Dade Transit officials have a solution for those not wanting to stay stuck in heavy traffic during Art Basel and other exhibits this week.
It's the Miami-Dade Art Express pilot bus route.
It's meant to provide Art Basel goers with a convenient alternative to driving a car and then trying to find parking.
The complimentary express bus service, which starts Tuesday, travels along the Julia Tuttle Causeway with service every 20 minutes.
For those needing to stay connected, each 40-foot bus will have complimentary WiFi as well as bike racks.
Stops will be located at:
- Miami Beach Convention Center - 17 St. and Convention Center Dr.
- Design District - NE 1st Ave. and 38 St.
- Wynwood - NW 2nd Ave. and 29 St.
- Midtown - NE 29 St. and 1st Ave.
Each stop will have complimentary mobile device charging stations.
The route will be in service from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and run until Sunday, December 6th - the last day of Art Basel.
