NORTH MIAMI (CBS4) - National Mom and Pop Business Owner Day is March 29th and to mark the occasion, some local shops in South Florida are offering savings.
When you think of a mom and pop shop, an old fashioned pizza place may come to mind.
Bertoni's Brick Oven Pizza and lounge in North Miami hopes you find their restaurant not only filled with good food, but also good deals.
"I saw my grandpa and grandma cook every single day to prepare the fresh tomato, basil, the pasta and the pizza," said Julio Bertoni, owner of Bertoni's and Dolce Vita Gelato which is one of the several local businesses taking part in National Mom and Pop Business Owner Day.
At Bertoni's for the rest of the week people get 20% off a dinner entrée, a glass of beer or wine for $2.50 and a free Dolce Vita gelato with your meal.
Other deals at Ayama Yoga Center in Aventura where this week your first class is free and if you book a package you get 30 percent off.
The Seven Seas Spa in Sunny Isles Beach is offering 20 spa services including some massages and facials.
Miller's Studio Salon and Spa in Coral Gables is offering customers 50% off hair care services which includes cuts, color, and blowouts.
At Cafe da Vinci in Bay Harbour Island, people can get a free glass of wine and free dessert with their meal, and at certain GBS Beauty Supply stores people can get free beauty supplies with purchase.
All deals meant to save you money and drum up business.
"I hope that people visit for the first time and come back and come back again and again," said Bertoni who wishes to have a successful week.
