Construction Begins On U.S.1 In Ft. Lauderdale
FT. LAUDERDALE (CBS4) - Expect longer delays and congestion than usual on U.S. 1 in Ft. Lauderdale. Construction began Monday on a major project to repave the road from Broward Boulevard to SE 17th Street.
One lane in each direction will be closed to traffic around the clock so work can be done on gutters, drainage, curbs and sidewalk ramps.
The two-year project, which will cost $2.6 million, includes the repair of the Henry E. Kinney Tunnel.
