PLAYALINDA BEACH (CBSMiami/AP) — A day at the beach ended with a trip to the hospital for a two 12-year-old sisters who are conjoined at the head.
The girls were playing in the water off Playalinda Beach on Sunday evening when one of the twins hurt her neck. Playalinda Beach is just south of the Kennedy Space Center.
Brevard County Fire Rescue spokesman Don Walker says both girls were conscious and alert when they were flown to Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children in Orlando. He says it appears they were just playing in the water when one was injured.
