Casey Anthony Files Appeal On Misdemeanors

ORLANDO (CBS4) – For the first time in almost three years, Casey Anthony will step out of jail as a free woman on Sunday, almost two weeks after she was acquitted of murdering her 2-year-old daughter.

However, her legal battle will continue. Casey has filed notice that she will appeal her misdemeanor convictions of lying to law enforcement.

The Florida mother filed the notice Friday in Florida's 5th District Court of Appeal in Daytona Beach.

Anthony was found not guilty last week of murdering Caylee, aggravated child abuse and aggravated manslaughter. Jurors convicted Anthony of four counts of lying to law enforcement, but with time served and good behavior credits, she didn't have to serve out her four-year sentence.

It's unknown where Anthony will go after her jail release.
