Canes Take Field For Final Time In 2011

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The Miami Hurricanes won't be going bowling this season which means Friday's duel with Boston College will be the final time in 2011 you will get to see the 2011 senior class on the field.

The Hurricanes come into Friday's game after a less than stellar offensive performance against the South Florida Bulls. The Canes managed just 57 yards rushing and 259 yards passing against the Conference USA Bulls.

Miami, in its first year under head coach Al Golden, is ranked in the bottom half of the Atlantic Coast Conference in scoring offense. The Canes are scoring just 27.4 points per game this season, according to

The Canes offensive attack has been fairly well-balanced in 2011. The Canes average 147.8 yards per game on the ground and 230.9 yards per game through the air. Senior quarterback Jacory Harris has led the way with his best season ever as a member of the Hurricanes.

Harris has completed 66 percent of his throws this season and has amassed a quarterback rating of 158.21 for the season. Harris cut his interceptions way down in 2011. For the season Harris has 19 touchdown passes to just five interceptions.

Miami's defense has been growing each week and is ranked third in the ACC in scoring defense allowing just 19.7 points per game. The Canes' passing defense has led the way, allowing fewer than 200 yards per game, according to

Boston College has been a mess all season. The Eagles rank last in scoring offense in the ACC, managing just 17.6 points per game. The Eagles defense hasn't helped much either, giving up 24 points per game.

The Canes are likely to walk out of Sun Life Stadium Friday evening with their heads held high as they finish the season with back-to-back wins to run the school's record to 7-5.

Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. and the game can be seen on ABC.
