BSO Seeks "Tussling Thief" In Convenience Store Theft

LAUDERDALE LAKES (CBSMiami) – BSO detectives are asking for help from the public in locating the so-called "tussling thief."

He's a guy who robbed a Stop N'Shop at 3991 NW 41st Street in Lauderdale Lakes but before he took the cash, he was seen on surveillance video punching the clerk repeatedly.

The video, taken March 4th, first shows the suspect walking into the store and behind the counter where he punches the employee several time.

After a brief tussle, he walks back around the counter and leaves. But he wasn't gone lone. A few moments later, he runs back in and jumps over the counter. He demands that the employee open the register. Once he does, the thief grabs all the cash and runs out.

The suspect is described as a black male in his 40s. He measures about 5'10" in height, weighs approximately 190 lbs. and is seen wearing a gray T-shirt and jeans.

A reward of up to $1,000 is available for information leading to an arrest.
