Bomb Threat On Spirit Flight A Hoax
FT. LAUDERDALE (CBS4) - A bomb threat aboard an Atlanta bound Spirit Airlines flight Saturday night turned out to be a hoax.
Flight 230 was taxiing down a runway at Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport around 10 p.m. when a passenger reportedly found a threat scrawled on a magazine. The plane returned to the terminal and the passengers and crew were evacuated.
Broward Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Keyla Concepcion said Sunday in a written statement that their department's bomb squad swept the plane. After an hour and a half they were able to determine that there were no explosives on board.
