Auto Magnate Ed Morse Dead At 91
BOCA RATON (CBSMiami) - Automotive magnate Ed Morse, who founded Morse Motors with his father in 1946, has passed away at the age of 91 from natural causes.
Originally a rental car company, Morse Motors grew into a car-dealership empire that currently has 15 locations, including ones in Riviera Beach, Delray Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Sunrise, Tampa and Port Richey.
The family business is headed by Morse's son, Ted Morse, who is president and chief executive officer of Ed Morse Automotive Group, according to the Sun-Sentinel.
Ed Morse served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He earned a Distinguished Flying Cross medal for flying a plane back to its New Guinea base following a deadly South Pacific mission in which a co-pilot was killed and the pilot was wounded.
