Abramson On Dolphins: "They've Got A Ways To Go"

Interviews-wqam

Former Miami Dolphins beat writer and current opinion writer for the Sun Sentinel Andrew Abramson joined the Big O Show on 560 WQAM to discuss the Miami Dolphins upcoming season and the 2016 Presidential Election.

On the Dolphins expectations:

"I like Adam Gase a lot. I think he's a smart guy, I just don't think you're there yet. Everything would have to go right for them to make a playoff run this year. The defensive line would have to be dominate. That secondary has no depth whatsoever. I still have questions at Linebacker. On offense, Ryan Tannehill's gonna have to really step up. If those things don't happen, I wouldn't be surprised if this is a 6 win team this year. They've got a ways to go."

On Kiko Alonso and the Defense:

"He's not the biggest guy, we've only seen one good year from him which was his rookie year. I just think there's a lot of expectations on him right now and it may be unrealistic, I think he has a lot to prove. There's a lot of questions on that defense. I look at it as a 2 year rebuild. For next year I think they have to load up on defense on the draft."

On Ryan Tannehill:

"The only thing that kinda worries me, what if you see a little of improvement from Tannehill, then you're going to hear the argument "Well he needs a second year in Adam Gase's offense." If Ryan Tannehill is not the guy, you're going to have to find the guy and the problem with the Dolphins every year is they're not quite bad enough to get a high draft pick but they're not good enough to make the playoffs. If Ryan Tannehill actually struggles this year, then I think this is a team that will have a top 10 draft pick"
