1 Dead, 1 Injured In Shooting Near Metrorail Station

MIAMI (CBS4) – One person is dead, another hospitalized after a violent confrontation near the Brownsville Metrorail station.

According to grieving mother Leslie Taylor, her son Gary Bell was shot and killed outside the Metrorail station at NW 27th Avenue and 52nd Street Sunday night.

Taylor's son, who was 17-years-old, died at Jackson Memorial Hospital. She said he went to meet his girlfriend near the Metrorail station. She said she believes he ended up in some sort of confrontation with another group of people which resulted in the shooting.

She said his girlfriend knows who shot her son and wants that person to come forward.

"He just a baby. I want my son back. I can't bring my son back but I need whoever shot my baby to come forward. He did not deserve this," said Taylor.

Taylor also had a warning for the shooter.

"Whoever shot my son, you might as well let the police catch you because if the family catches you, it ain't going to be nice. It ain't going to be nice." Taylor said another person involved in the shooting was also taken to JMH with a bullet wound. The name and condition of that person is not known.
