Southland residents were caught unawares Friday afternoon when the warm sun suddenly gave way to downpours and, in some areas, lightning.
There's a chance of a few more showers throughout the day but look for generally drying conditions with cooler temps.

A plume of moisture surging from the south will bring the threat of sprinkles through the day and steady rainfall by the evening.
