The suspect was identified as 36-year-old Angel Sanchez of Costa Mesa.
"Why are you forcing her to lie in order to put this behind her?"
Aarman Premjee, 20, was held on $100,000 bail.
The crime occurred Tuesday evening.
Detectives say a man charged with 10 felony counts of rape and sex-related crimes may have more victims.
The incident did not occur on the college campus.
Police today named a suspect in the case: 43-year-old Felipe Hernandez Tellez, who is believed to be living in Mexico.
