Woman arrested after South Los Angeles pursuit ends in crash

A woman was arrested after leading police on a brief pursuit that ended with a violent crash in South Los Angeles on Saturday night. 

It's still unclear what caused the chase to begin, but Los Angeles Police Department officers said the incident began just after 8:20 p.m. in the Exposition Park area.

It ended a brief time later when the suspect jumped a curb and crashed into a wall near Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and San Pedro Street. The severely damaged car was seen with doors and its trunk ajar via aerial footage after the collision. 

Police said that the woman was arrested at the scene. It's unclear if she was injured in the crash. 

No other injuries were reported in the incident, which LAPD officers said remains under investigation.
